College Artwork

All of this work was created during my Freshman year while attending Rocky Mountain College of

Art and Design (RMCAD). The first gallery is work done in my first semester classes in my Visual

Design 1 and Drawing 1 classes. The second gallery is work done in my second semester classes in my

Drawing 2, Intro to Painting, and Life Drawing 1 classes.  They are placed in chronological order except the Life Drawing pictures which are placed out of order.  I apologize for some of the pictures that downloaded side-ways.  I was not able to correct them.  Enjoy.

Title:Mystery of the Free Masons-This picture depicts numerous symbols of freemasonry.  The assignment was to research a number and make a drawing about it.  I researched the number 33.  33 is the highest degree of freemason, and it is the number of bones in the human spine.  The eagle, sword, and banner are all symbols of the 33rd degree mason, and the all seeing eye (bottom left corner) and the pentagram are other symbols of freemasonry.  The pentagon is in the background and is comprised of out of focus branches.  The Freemason symbol is shown on the front branch.  The spine is incorporated into the composition in order to signify the number 33.  It is done in graphite pencils.  Detail images are below.  This piece was done in my Drawing 2 class.
